This is week 3 without any diet soda. I have notice large changes in my energy levels and my motivation. My diagnosis of acidosis would seem to be correct as my counter measures with supplementation seem to be having a large influence.

So the last few workouts i’ve been focusing on weak point training. Needless to say my body is in constant paint from all the lactic acid. Weak point training is just as the name sound, working on areas that are the weakest. For me that traps, biceps, abdomin. Workouts are going great and i am noticing huge gains both in wellness and strength.

The last week i only got into the 3 times. I took a bit of a break because i was busy studying for my midterms and reading week was to follow.  definitly untilized the time off and recouped. Since the start of this week, i have been hard at the gym trying slight variations in workouts including plyometrics and power movements. I also ran out of l-arginine 3 days ago and can notice a huge difference without it! Time to go get some more-i recommend this natural supplement for anyone looking to improve their health, it works wonders.

This week was really tough on me because of midterms-but they are now over and i am on reading week, i have decided to take an easy week and only workout a couple of times. I have noticed a huge difference in the way i feel physically since quitting the diet pepsi and supplementing everything in. Thanks god i noticed this as i was literally killing myself. Next week will be the strongest week yet as i will be able to sleep in everyday and eat appropriatly. -Cant wait!

I have done some extensive research and concluded that i am suffering from acidosis which stems from carrying a high ph/acidity level in the blood. This creates the perfect habitate for disease and sickness to grow-this would explainwhy i have felt so louzy the last year. My diet pop habit was lierally killing me. This being said, i have giving up diet pop straight out and am on day 4 without, the first couple of days i struggled witht he craving, but by adding l-tyorsine i have been able to combat them and avoid giving in. In order to naturally fight off acidosis and bring my ph levels down, i added, magnesium, calcium, zinc, cod liver oil, and omega 3-6-9 fat acid supplements to my diet. I have already noticed a huge increase in my energy and my mood is is getting increasingly better. I have also managed to pound out some solid workouts over the weekend and re weighted myslef at 178 pounds! 4 pounds in 3 weeks-not bad considering how i’m eatting.

special note-if it were not for using this blog and crosstrainer, i would not have been able to trend this and figure out what was hurting me-see how useful a log is?

Hey everyone,

Its been a great week, last weekend was spent in montreal for a business competition but i still managed to workout and maintain my goal of 5 workouts per week. I am going on my 4th workout of this week today and feel amazing. I have added the supplement l-arginine to my diet and it has created a night and day difference in feel for me. I am clearing lacking essential amino acids and fatty acids-i think my diet pop habit is to blame, but i have given it up for lent-my goal is 120 days without(regeneration cycle for red/white bloods cells)and then evaluate the way i feel.

So the weekend was alright, i felt like i was coming down with a cold because of my lack of energy and thus didnt workout on saturday. Sunday felt ok but i was still very tired and didnt have any energy. I did drag myself to the gym for a chest workout though which was ok. Monday-i dont know what happened, but i woke up wired and full of energy! I felt great i couldnt sit still and wanted to workout all day but i had to make it through my classes first. By the time gym time did roll around i was slowing down a bit, but i stil pulled off a good leg workout. At this point i have ran through all of my muscle groups and am now ready to start adding weight and playing with supplementation and nutrients. Tuesday i decided to start with l-arginine and NO2, these supplements help with energy levels and the secretion/creation of gh which helps muscle grow, the NO2 helps blast oxygen into the muscle creating a “pump” effect, this helps create a larger tear in the muscle fibers which in turn creates growth. I am also going add calories and start putting on the pounds now. After adding the 2 supplements in today i went the gym and had the best shoulder workout i’ve had in months, everything felt solid and my usual nagging shoulder injury pains were no where to be seen/felt.  Finally…..Something to build from!

So friday has finally arrived and all i can say is thank god!

Tuesday: Summed up….was a mess, the go-go-go of monday made me feel aweful the next day, however i made it into the gym and also ate well.

Wedensday: Ok day, ate terrible and by that i mean not enough and there is no excuse for it, i had every opportunity to eat whats required. Took the day off from the gym.

Thursday: A much better day, slept well and ate good. Did a shoulder workout, i wasnt feeling to to great at the time so i wasnt lifting my usual weight, but still had a good workout.

Well…..This is the starting day for the start of the big changes. It was just that, a big day. Not in the way you would think though. I went to bed with anticipatory thoughts about the what could be if it works out and I stick to my guns. Comedian Lewis Black says it best when he talks about the gambler on his or her way to the casino, their heads filled with infinte possibilities of all the positive outcomes to be and  15 minutes after sitting at the tables “dammit, the kids don`t really need to goto college`. The day started by me getting awakened by my girlfriend of 3 years Meagen. It was 9am……she, like me is a full time student and mondays for the both of us starts at 8:30am. She had awaken to the alarm at 6:15am as usual but this time decided she needed another 20 minutes of sleep. In her haze instead of setting the alarm for 20 minutes later, she adjusted the time and even if she had set the alarm it wouldn`t have gone off because she didn`t turn it on. Being late for or not going to class is common for me, i`m in my fifth year of post secondary education and having a to drive to classes an hour each way, i`ve learned to effectivly skip class. Today I had an accounting midterm though, so i had to be there in the afternoon.  However, Meagen on the other hand had a very important experimental lab at a medical facility an hour in the opposite direction that was classified as a school trip and the students were bused up(eye-roll, some of you can see where this is going). My sweet heart is not very fond of highway driving especially on 400 series highways(those are the equivilent to intersate highways in the states). I however have wrangled them to get to class for the last 5 years. So naturally, i`m stuck driving her to where she needs to go-great, another missed class.  So after getting her to her lab only 30 minutes late, i hop back on the highway and stay my 2 hour drive to class, about 15 minutes in i see a jeep arc accross the lanes and smash into the barrier about 200 meters ahead. The vehicles then swerved across the lanes again and into the ditch. I wanted to stop but I was about 200 meter past the accident and trying to dodge car parts on the run and i didnt do a good job. I ran of a nice shape peice of bumper beam…great for the tires and alignment-luckily the people in the jeep appeared ok from what I saw. I had assumed my tire would be flat within 5 minutes, i made it home and changed vehicles because the tire had deflated and it would be flat soon enough. Finally 3 hours of driving later i make it to class….oh ya… accounting mid term. I`m not sure how to articulate the whistling sound that the old WWII bombs made when being dropped, but that pretty much explains how I felt about the way I wrote the paper-bombed it! Now for another hour drive to bash my confidence in the subject. I make it home and finally have the chance to eat and I`m starving,  I manage to eat 2 meals within 2 hours and slam the gym with a decent Chest and tricep routine. It wasn`t great by any means but it could have been alot worse.

So if you`ve experienced a tough time getting started on a new habit…….I can say I understand

When I spent time as a personal trainer years ago, I noticed one major flaw that every person who was aiming to be get into great shape made, that was keeping a log of what they did and what they ate. This was the key difference between the beginner and pro’s. Every person I had trained with for shows and photo shoots had always kept a log along with myself. What we noticed was that we could quickly figure why we had such good days and such bad days by looking at the history leading up to then. I have used crosstrainer for the last year and a half and though I have not been into fitness the way I was, I could still track and correct any flaws I had that lead to bad days. I encourage anyone who is aiming to change levels of fitness and health to use a journal where it be crosstrainer or a simple pen and paper set up.

Start date: On monday Feb the 1st I will be beginning my venture and I will be making daily posts to show that even people who have experience in the field have huge obstacles to overcome.
